The Oregon Junco  is a small, unassuming bird found along the length of the Pacific Coast, from the chaparral hills of California, the rocky shores of Oregon to the temperate rainforests of Washington.

Like many residents of the West, they are chill, perpetually hustling and a bit passive aggressive. 

The equally small business named after it, Junky Junco, was founded by designer and illustrator, Khuyên Lam. This migratory shop is currently based out of Seattle. Like its mascot, the Oregon Junco, the store can also be found at events in California and Oregon.

After a series of unfortunate events, the artist went from climbing mountains to hobbling on crutches. For company, she fed birds from her balcony and among them was the nondescript junco.

Instead of trekking through national parks and forests, the artist limped around city parks, releaning to walk again. She gained a new appreciation for both these urban oasis, and the many juncos scurrying along the ground, two thing she had once overlooked.

From that, ideas snowballed into Junky Junco.
