This loop in Olympic National Park showcases ancient coastal forests and the rugged shores of the Pacific Ocean. At the trail's centerpiece lies Cape Alava, the westernmost point of the contiguous United States, rich with historical and cultural significance. The area was once home to the Makah Tribe, whose centuries-old petroglyphs can still be seen carved into rocks at Wedding Rocks along the trail.
